Temporary Over-Night Housing for Homeless People
Propose using converted trailers to provide temporary over-night housing to urban homeless. Each trailer could be modified to accommodate several people and provide basic sitting area, bed, flat screen, and window. The trailers could be battery powered or plug-in when available(note these could charge by solar or plug-in during the day – while being cleaned/stored outside of the city core). Bathroom and showers provided in a separate trailer. Booking would be made throughout the day via existing charitable services and/or website and the trailers would be transported downtown each evening and taken away in the morning (parked out of the city during the day for cleaning etc).
Street Configuration (access on one side of trailer)
Parking Lot Configuration
Trailers can be parked in square or parallel configuration, to create common areas in between.
Some Assumptions
Truck drivers would drop-off and pick up trailers as required, human resources would also be required for booking system, security/supervision
You could build ten of these trailers, and have one truck driver set them up downtown at night, and another haul them back to a parking area outside of the downtown core at night. They may need to be cleaned during the day if different people were going to be using them.
Configuration
You might setup 5 accommodation trailers and one shower/toilet trailer in one area, or more depending on security, supervision and
